How Do I Retrieve and Share SOLIDWORKS Logs to Resolve Installation Issues

If your SOLIDWORKS installation didn’t go as expected, don’t worry—help is just a few steps away. This guide shows you how to quickly package and send your installation logs so our support team can troubleshoot the issue.

Steps to Package Your Installation Logs

  1. Open File Explorer
    • You can do this by pressing Windows + E or by clicking the folder icon on your taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the logs folder
    • Copy and paste this path into the File Explorer address bar and hit Enter:
      %AppData%\SolidWorks\Installation Logs\
  1. Find the correct version folder
    • Inside the Installation Logs folder, you’ll see subfolders for each version of SOLIDWORKS you've tried to install.
    • Open the folder that matches the version you're having trouble with.
  2. Zip the log files
    • Select all files and subfolders inside the version folder.
    • Right-click the selection and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
    • This will create a .zip file containing everything we need.
  3. Send it to our support team
    • Email the .zip file to us at Support@SwyftSol.com.
