How Do I Retrieve and Share SOLIDWORKS Logs to Resolve Installation Issues
If your SOLIDWORKS installation didn’t go as expected, don’t worry—help is just a few steps away. This guide shows you how to quickly package and send your installation logs so our support team can troubleshoot the issue.
Steps to Package Your Installation Logs
- Open File Explorer
- You can do this by pressing Windows + E or by clicking the folder icon on your taskbar.
- Navigate to the logs folder
- Copy and paste this path into the File Explorer address bar and hit Enter:
- SOLIDWORKS Standalone/Network License: %AppData%\SolidWorks
- SOLIDWORKS Named User License: %ProgramFiles%\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE R20XXx\InstallData
- Copy and paste this path into the File Explorer address bar and hit Enter:
- Zip the log files
- Locate the Logs folder:
- SOLIDWORKS Standalone/Network License: Installation Logs
- SOLIDWORKS Named User License: InstallData
- Right-click the folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a .zip file containing everything we need.
- Locate the Logs folder:
- Send it to our support team
- Email the .zip file to us at Support@SwyftSol.com.
