How Do I Retrieve and Share SOLIDWORKS Logs to Resolve Installation Issues

If your SOLIDWORKS installation didn’t go as expected, don’t worry—help is just a few steps away. This guide shows you how to quickly package and send your installation logs so our support team can troubleshoot the issue.

Steps to Package Your Installation Logs

  1. Open File Explorer
    1. You can do this by pressing Windows + E or by clicking the folder icon on your taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the logs folder
    1. Copy and paste this path into the File Explorer address bar and hit Enter:
      1. SOLIDWORKS Standalone/Network License: %AppData%\SolidWorks
      2. SOLIDWORKS Named User License: %ProgramFiles%\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE R20XXx\InstallData
  3. Zip the log files
    1. Locate the Logs folder:
      1. SOLIDWORKS Standalone/Network License: Installation Logs
      2. SOLIDWORKS Named User License: InstallData
    2. Right-click the folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a .zip file containing everything we need.
  4. Send it to our support team
    1. Email the .zip file to us at Support@SwyftSol.com.
    2. Feel free to include a short note describing the issue you’re seeing.
