How To Enable Two Factor Authentication on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

If you are experiencing a large number of log-ins, or even the occasional unexplained logout from your 3DEXPERIENCE Platform or SOLIDWORKS Design, enabling Two Factor Authentication (2FA) can sometimes help. This guide walks you through the process of setting up (and disabling) 2FA for your 3DEXPERIENCE accounts.

NOTE: The Two Factor Authentication requires an authenticator application to be installed on another device, such as a smartphone or tablet. It is best to have this installed ahead of time. 

Starting the Two Factor Authentication setup:

  1. Log in to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform

    1. If prompted, select your main tenant

  2. Click on your Silhouette or user photo, if you set one up and select My Profile

  3. Select Preferences

  4. Under the Two Factor Authentication category, select Manage



  5. You'll be prompted to log into your Authenticator and follow its sepecific steps to complete the process

Deactivating the 2FA:

If for some reason you wish to disable the 2FA from your 3DEXPERIENCE account, please see the below steps.

  1. Log into the Platform and follow steps 1-5 as outlined above

  2. Select Deactivate

  3. The Platform will guide you through the remainder of the steps.
