How to Invite External 3DEXPERIENCE Users to Your Platform With Their Own License

This guide explains how to invite an external 3DEXPERIENCE user to your platform, allowing them to retain and use their license(s) from their own platform.

Step 1: Enable the Administrator to Grant Roles Without License

  1. Log into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  2. Open the Members Control Center from the Platform Management Dashboard or 3DCompass app list (blue circle with play button in the top left).
  3. Navigate to the Configure Members Options tab.
  4. Under the Invitations from Administrators section, enable Allow Administrators to Grant Roles without Assigning Automatically the Associated License.

Note: This setting must be enabled on both the Invitor's and Invitee's platforms.

Step 2: Configure License Restrictions

  1. The external user being invited should go to the Invite and Grant Roles tab in the Members Control Center on their platform.
  2. Next to their name, click the information icon.
  3. Disable Restrict Usage to This Platform for each license they wish to use on the Invitor’s platform.

Step 3: Send the Invitation

  1. The user inviting the external user should access the Invite and Grant Roles tab in the Members Control Center and select Invite Members.
  2. Enter the external user's email address associated with their own 3DEXPERIENCE platform account.
  3. Proceed to the Roles assignment section and assign the same roles that the external user has assigned to their acccount on their platform.

    1. Example: If the invitee has 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Standard on their platform, the Invitor should select this same role when inviting them.

  4. Click Next, then Send Invite.


Tip: If the correct license isn’t listed at first glance, check Available Roles without any license at the bottom of the page.

After completing these steps, the external user should have access to your platform with their own license.
