How to Resolve the “An Incomplete Installation Has Been Found In This Directory” Error for 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS (SOLIDWORKS Connected)

When updating 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS (SOLIDWORKS Connected), installations may fail due to a non-empty installation directory. Follow these steps to resolve the issue by clearing the incomplete installation folder.

Step 1: Navigate to the Incomplete Install Data Folder

  1. Leave the error message open or select Exit Installer.
  2. Open File Explorer.
    1. Press Win + E to open Windows File Explorer. 
  3. Navigate to the Incomplete folder in the Installation Directory.
    1. C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE\InstallData\Incomplete 

    Step 2: Delete the Incomplete Install Data

    1. Delete the Incomplete folder with all of the contents within.
    2. After clearing the folder, select the Restart Installation button if you left the installation dialog open or retry the update.

     

    This should allow the update to proceed without errors.
