How to Retrieve Your SOLIDWORKS Serial Numbers from the Admin Portal
Need to find your SOLIDWORKS serial numbers but don't want to dig through past emails or invoices? Or are you a new user and need to know where to find your serial numbers? Good news, if you're a Security Administrator on your organization's SOLIDWORKS account, you can access all of your product serial numbers in one place: the MyProducts Admin Portal.
Sign In to the Admin Portal
- Go to https://myproducts.solidworks.com and log in using the 3DEXPERIENCE username/email and password associated with your account (this is usually the same as your SOLIDWORKS ID, if you had one previously).
- If you try logging in and don’t have access, or you see an image like below, reach out to a Security Admin on your company’s account, or contact your Value Added Reseller (VAR) to have the necessary permissions updated.
- Your company's existing Security Admin can adjust your permissions with the steps outlined in this guide.
Information Contained in the Portal
- Once you’ve logged in with the proper account, you’ll see a list of products associated with your company's account, including:
- Product Name
- Serial Number
- License Type
- Activation Status
- CSV Export Button
- You can use the serial numbers listed in this portal during installation when prompted. If you are installing a Network license of SOLIDWORKS, please install the server components first.
Tip: Serial numbers are mix-and-match. For instance, any Visualize serial number can be used with any SOLIDWORKS Package serial number.
- For any licenses that are already active, you can verify the active machine by clicking on the blue link for the respective license in the Product Name column.

Common Questions
- What if I don't see any serial numbers?
-
You may not have Security Admin privileges on the account.
-
Your company may be using 3DEXPERIENCE roles/licenses instead of serial number based licenses.
-
Try logging in with a different email or check with your IT/software coordinator, as sometimes IT departments or purchasing are assigned this role by default.
-
- Can I retrieve serials for older versions of SOLIDWORKS?
- Yes. Your serial number typically includes access to older versions of the software up to four product years prior. These can be found by logging into the SOLIDWORKS Downloads Center and selecting the Product Year from the dropdown. If you need an older version, contact your VAR to request legacy media downloads for you.
- Can I use one serial number for multiple computers?
- While the option to transfer the license from one computer to another does exist, it is a manual task that you need access to the computer for, and could leave the license tied to a computer which you'd like to release it from. For managing multiple computers with one license, check out 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS.
Need Help?
- If you can’t find your serial numbers or need help identifying the correct product, your VAR will be able to help. Look for a tech support email address or hotline number in your onboarding email from your reseller.
