How to Select a Render Device in SOLIDWORKS Visualize

This guide will take you step by step through selecting a render device in SOLIDWORKS Visualize. This will determine whether your renders are carried out with CPU, GPU, or a mix of the two.

  1. In SOLIDWORKS Visualize, open Tools > Options.
  2. Open the 3D Viewport section.
  3. Select the Render Device of choice.
    1. CPU
      1. This is best used if you have a powerful CPU. You can use the slider to limit the CPU load.
    2. CUDA-enabled GPUs
      1. This is only available if you have a CUDA-enabled GPU with more than 1 GB VRAM.

NOTE: Having both selected will result in a hybrid computation.
