How to Uninstall SOLIDWORKS Connected (3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS)

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to uninstall SOLIDWORKS Connected from your computer.

Standard Unintall

  1. Open Installed Apps: Right-click the Windows Start button and select Installed Apps.



  2. Find 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS: In the search bar, type "SOLIDWORKS" and locate the correct version (e.g., Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE R20XXx). If multiple versions exist, uninstall only the one labeled SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE.


  3. Uninstall: Confirm to uninstall by clicking “Yes” and follow the prompts. 

 

NOTE: Alternatively, you can kick off the uninstallation process directly from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Intermediate Uninstall

  1. Perform the Standard Uninstall steps
  2. Uninstall the following prerequisite applications
    1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64)
    2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x86)
    3. CEF for SOLIDWORKS Applications
    4. Visual Basic (VBA) 7.1
      1. Download the attachment (Uninstall_VBA.BAT)
      2. Right-click on the downloaded batch file and select Run as Administrator

Advanced Uninstall

CAUTION: Prior to deleting any of the %public% or %programdata% folders in the next step, we recommend that you create a backup.

CAUTION: Exercise caution when editing or deleting entries in the Windows Registry, as modifying the wrong entry can cause significant system issues. It is strongly recommended you backup your registry keys beforehand.

  1. Perform the Standard and Intermediate Uninstall steps
  2. Uninstall the following applications
    1. 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher
    2. Dassault Systemes Software VC11 Prerequisites (x86-x64)
    3. Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2022
    4. SOLIDWORKS Login Manager
    5. WPTx64
  3. Delete the following folders (some of these may not exist as a result of the standard uninstall process) - See Caution note above
    1. %programfiles%\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE
    2. %programfiles%\Common Files\SOLIDWORKS Shared
    3. %programfiles(x86)%\Common Files\SOLIDWORKS Shared
    4. %public%\Documents\Dassault Systemes
    5. %public%\Documents\SOLIDWORKS
    6. %programdata%\DassaultSystemes\3DEXPERIENCELauncher
    7. %programdata%\SOLIDWORKS
    8. %programdata%\SolidWorks HotFix
    9. %appdata%\DassaultSystemes
    10. %appdata%\SolidWorks
    11. %localappdata%\TempSWBackupDirectory
    12. %localappdata%\DassaultSystemes
    13. %localappdata%\SolidWorks
    14. %temp%\swcefcache
  4. Delete the following registry keys (requires administrative rights) - See Caution note above
    1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dassault Systemes\SolidWorks Shared
    2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dassault Systemes\SolidWorksPDM
    3. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks
    4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Srac
    5. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Dassault Systemes\SolidWorksPDM
    6. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Dassault Systemes\SwxConnectors
    7. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Dassault Systemes\V6_Common
    8. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SolidWorks
    9. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Srac
